Introducing Caroline Madison Hubbard!!

She's finally here!! Our beautiful little girl, Caroline Madison, was born July 16 at 11:32 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. We are all doing well and Zack and I are utterly in love. She is such a good baby. She hardly ever cries, unless she needs something and is SO alert and aware. She's done really well with the nursing overall, and takes to it like a champ - from day one, even in the hospital. Here are a few pictures from her birthday. I'll try to post more soon!!

Still no baby!

We continue to wait.....Caroline has yet to decide she's ready to meet the world. Zack and I kind of laugh, picturing her in there bracing herself with both arms outstretched saying "No! I don't want to come out!" My mom says she's just like her Grandpa Goodman, not in a hurry to get anywhere! She's decided to be fashionably late! For now, I'm just trying to keep myself busy. My last day of work was last Tuesday, so it's kind of strange not to have something to fill my days. So far, it hasn't been too hard, I seem to find things to do. We go back to the doctor tomorrow morning, and I am SO hoping for some progress! The induction discussion has already been brought up by my doctors, and actually was scheduled for this Friday, but I managed to put them off for this week, to give Miss Caroline some extra time to decide to come on her own. I really don't want to be induced unless absolutely necessary. I'm sure that it will come up again tomorrow though, and be rescheduled for next week just in case. For now there's nothing much to do except wait for something to happen! We'll continue to update with any news!

3 days from due date and still waiting!

I saw the doctor today and the latest news is that there has been virtually no progress since last week. Caroline is head down but still nice and high. We had an ultrasound and a non-stress test today which per the doctor showed that "baby is doing great." Her estimated weight is about 6 pounds, 9 ounces, which was reassuring to me that I'm not going to be having a 9 pound baby!! For now, the plan is to give it another week and see if she decides to come on her own. My next appointment is next Wednesday, and they'll check me again for progress. If she's still stubborn..er I mean "happy"....then we will have to look at scheduling an induction for the following week, still hoping that she will make a decision to come on her own before then. The non-stress test did show that I am having quite a few contractions, some of which have been strong enough to feel here and there, so I'm at least taking that as a sign that SOMETHING is happening. I'll be going on lots of long walks this week (smile)!

Counting Down.....

Nine days until Caroline's due date!! I am so ready for her to be here!! But.. I went to the doctor today and it seems that Miss Caroline is nice and happy where she is. She is head down but has only dropped a little bit, so for now it seems she is taking her sweet time. I was told "no July 4th baby for you!" Luckily, my doctor won't let me go very far past my due date before they intervene, so at the very most we're looking at another two weeks. Sigh. And that's only if she decides not to come on her own sooner. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound next week and a non-stress test just to check things out and make sure she's doing ok. It would be nice if she decided to make her debut before then!
